Working Group 3
Roles, interactions and impact on policymaking process
Working Group 3 examines the inner dynamics of the executive triangle. We aim to gain a more personal perspective on their views. To do that, we interview ministers, senior civil servants, and political advisers across more than 15 countries. We inquire about their roles and skills, their influence on policy outcomes, and the politics of the government’s elite.
We have more than 35 researchers covering 20 countries and our network spans both East and West, as well as Nordic and Southern Europe. In the Working Group, we developed a shared interview guide for each type of interviewee as well as a shared codebook for analysing the empirical material. These will be used across the participating countries. Thus, we will make a unique contribution to our comparative understanding of the inner workings in the ministerial executive triangle.
